Everyone has a different learning ability. However, some people may only need a few lessons and others require more. It also depends on the frequency of lessons and previous experience. Keep in mind, we at ACT suggest no matter which driving school you choose, have one or two lessons and then ask your instructor to give you an approximate estimate.
Please note, you may also need to take into account the hours of supervised driving required in your Log Book. Remember, 10 hours of lessons with ACT equals 30 hours in your log book.
Yes, we can if you wish to use an instructor’s car for your test. We offer lesson & test packages – a great way to get some last minute tips and driving practice from your instructor and give you a confidence boost before your test as well. If you need help co-ordinating your lessons and test booking, we can help, just let us know. (Note: Transport booking fee is additional to Lesson & test packages.)
The government test booking fee of $60.56 (as at 1 July 2020) is charged by ACT Transport for you to book a driving test. You can sit your learners written test online and book your practical driving test here. Or we are happy to help you co-ordinate your lessons & test. Email us if we can assist with the process.
Yes, we can pick up from home, work or school & drop off at these locations as well. Please make these arrangements in advance with your instructor – we aim to make learning to drive as easy and convenient for you as possible.
Yes, you must bring a safe, suitable vehicle to use for your driving test. It must be registered & in a roadworthy condition. Please refer to the booking confirmation document emailed to you from ACT Transport when you booked in your test. Make sure that you click on the Driving Test Checklist linked in the document for the full list of requirements. If you don’t have a suitable vehicle, give us a call on 0413 301 440 to arrange car hire or book a lesson & test package.
We accept cash & credit card (Mastercard & Visa) and it is easy to book online or with your instructor following your lesson.

You will find great value for money when you book with Ace Driving School. Driving lessons by the hour are $75 when you book an pre-learner package for $499, $85 when you book a 4 lesson package for $339, or $85 when you book a 10 lesson package for $850.
